High-quality development of the automotive industry requires adherence to long-termism
At present, China's automobile industry is in the best state in its history. After more than 70 years of struggle, China's automobile production and sales scale now boasts the world, the industry's foundation continues to consolidate, especially Chinese car companies in the current round of electrification and intelligent transformation to take the lead, to achieve the domestic market share of the rising and overseas market "expanding the territory". It can be said that China has never been so close to the goal of building an automotive powerhouse.
However, at the same time, China's auto industry is also facing a series of new tests - industrial change is deepening, enterprises must adhere to the innovative investment and exploration; the international situation is treacherous, the car "out to sea" is not destined to be smooth sailing; domestic competition is becoming more and more intense. China's car companies "volume" unprecedented pressure ...... almost all car companies are in the survival and development of the tangled difficult to move forward.
As an industry "veteran" of more than 50 years, I am proud of the achievements of China's automobile industry today, but also worried about the future development of the industry. I think, now is far from resting on their laurels, raise their glasses to celebrate the time; on the contrary, we would rather estimate the difficulties more, more adequate. For this reason, we must face the new situation and adopt new strategies to effectively cope with the multiple challenges, accelerate the cultivation of global automobile powerhouse, and then really become an automobile powerhouse.
Specifically, I have the following suggestions for Chinese automobile enterprises to adhere to long-termism and realize the high-quality development of the industry:
First, increase investment in innovation and enhance comprehensive strength. Previously, Chinese automobile enterprises relied precisely on adherence to forward-looking innovation to take the lead in industrial change, and in the future we should continue to increase investment in future-oriented innovation. On the one hand, from the law of the market, unswervingly continue to develop electrification, intelligent advanced technology, in order to create excellent products that truly meet the needs of users. On the other hand, in terms of operation system and business model, we will actively carry out innovative exploration to match the new business model, not trying to achieve success in one day, but continuing to improve the comprehensive strength of the enterprise in all aspects. Eventually, in the process of continuously realizing the value of innovation, a dynamic growth "moat" will be formed.
Second, strengthen the win-win cooperation and promote ecological construction. I hope that China's automobile enterprises will not swarm, disorderly competition, and even tear each other down, but should focus on long-term development, and strive to strengthen the whole and the whole supply of various forms of effective collaboration, especially through the ecological construction, the formation of strategic partnerships, in order to save resources, reduce the burden, and at the same time to obtain their own advantages. This is in line with the laws of the industry and the general trend of development, but also the urgent needs of enterprises to reduce costs and increase efficiency. Recently, Huawei Intelligent Vehicle BU divested and welcomed car companies to join, and Azure and Changan, Geely, Chery, JAC and other organizations to form a "power switching alliance", I think it is a good attempt to build an ecological and intensive development.
Third, cultivate excellent global automobile brands. Creating a Chinese auto brand that is more recognized by global consumers is one of the core tasks of Chinese auto companies. To this end, we should change the "guerrilla warfare" into "formal warfare": steady competition in the domestic market, not blindly "inward roll"; orderly layout in the international market, strengthen the capacity building, can not fight a gun for a place, and should not fight overseas. We should not fight price wars overseas. We should insist on quality first and win by quality products and services to fully demonstrate the charm of the new automobile, establish the image of China's leading and reliable automobile, and continuously improve the added value and appeal of the brand.
Fourthly, we emphasize human resources and innovate the talent system. Talent is the foundation of an enterprise and the basis of prosperity. Facing the new demand for new talents in the new automobile in the new period, Chinese automobile enterprises must do a good job in human resources from the perspective of long-term sustainable development. First, we should actively cultivate talents, use talents, and build a team with innovative spirit and professional ability in practice; second, we should fully respect talents and trust talents, so that all kinds of talents can give full play to their strengths; third, we should effectively incentivize talents and care for talents, especially through the innovation of the talent system and mode, to better stimulate employees' enthusiasm for innovation and potential, and at the same time, tolerate the failure of innovation.
Fifth, establish and practice the concept of green development. In the future, Chinese automobile enterprises must adhere to green development and continuously strengthen ESG (environmental, social and corporate governance) construction. On the one hand, this will contribute to the realization of the national "dual-carbon" goal and the construction of a harmonious automotive society; on the other hand, the decarbonization of products and services will be one of the core competitiveness of enterprises in the future. Only those enterprises with more environmental, social and governance responsibilities are expected to eventually become "century-old enterprises".
In short, adherence to long-termism is not only a strong weapon to solve all kinds of problems, but also an inevitable choice to achieve high-quality industrial development. I believe that in the next 10 years, up to 20 years, there will be a long-termism to the end of the Chinese car companies, jumped into the ranks of world-class automotive powerhouse. By that time, several generations of Chinese automobile people to fight for the dream of automobile power, will also be truly realized.
